Public Lecture: October 10, 7 p.m.
Ada Medina is an interdisciplinary artist who transitions between drawing, painting and sculpture. Born near the Tex/Mex border, Medina later received a B.F.A. in painting from the Layton School of Art & Design and her M.A. and M.F.A. degrees in drawing from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Medina is the recipient of several distinguished grants, including a Pollack-Krasner Foundation Grant and a National Foundation for the Arts Individual Artist’s Fellowship.
The goal of the Ello & Guido Brink Fund for the Support of Multidisciplinary Art is to integrate the various fine arts mediums and incorporate new technologies into the arts. The lecture series brings in artists representing multiple disciplines, to lecture at MIAD and be involved with students in classes, critiques and seminars. Throughout their visits, the artists address the multidisciplinary aspects of their work.
