Expressing nervousness over speaking before 150 attendees at MIAD’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon on February 13, student speaker Erin Krembs (Sculpture ’14) said, “There are two things I am not nervous about – my art and my future.”
As the first in her family to attend college, Krembs thanked the donors and trustees present on behalf of all MIAD scholarship recipients for making her education possible and affording her all the opportunities she’s had at MIAD to learn, exhibit and sell her work.
“MIAD is like a second home to me, and I have you to thank for that,” she said.
The annual luncheon provides an opportunity for students to personally thank scholarship donors and discuss their work over a meal while enjoying exhibitions of freshmen, sophomore and junior works.
Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Harley-Davidson COO Matt Levatich thanked new corporate partners Parsifal Classic Mercedes Boutique, Plymouth Foam, Somna Therapeutics and GE Healthcare; and former MIAD Board Chair Sandy Williams for establishing a new named scholarship, the Williams Family Scholarship.
Why are scholarships so important to our students and our community?
