Back when Jonathan Warobick ’08 was fulfilling his community-service learning requirement at the Milwaukee County Historical Society, he never thought the outcomes would be so “trivial.”
That’s where the then MIAD junior met curator Steve Daily – and the rest, they say, “is history.”
Three years and numerous designs and revisions later, “All About Town: Milwaukee,” a trivia game about Milwaukee County’s history and pop culture, is ready for the public.
Warobick, a former Discovery World intern who now works with a variety of clients at Design Scout while maintaining his freelance business, said, “Someone had tried to design the game first, but it was evident it needed a marketable and professional look so that it could be enjoyed the way Steve wanted it to.
“It seemed to be a fun and creative project, and since I was working with three very open and receptive minds, the project was creatively challenging.”
On the content side, Daily joined forces with colleague Kevin Abing and his historian wife Kim Abing. The research conducted by the self-dubbed “3 History Geeks” resulted in 1,500 questions relating to people, places, events, sports, entertainment, business and history.
Warobick designed the box and game board: the box to look like a suitcase and the board a map of Milwaukee County with numerous local landmarks.
