Exhibitions filled MIAD’s galleries with a variety of work from alumni and high school students in the Pre-College Advanced MAJORS Program and from Ronald Reagan High School.
Gallery Night and Day, July 27-28, offered a final opportunity to view the 2012 Juried Senior Exhibition, in which selected talented artists and designers show their work. MIAD faculty chose 23 students’ work from the 2012 Senior Exhibition, representing each of MIAD’s 11 majors.
The Pre-College MAJORS Exhibition was also on view during Gallery Night and Day, featuring works in a variety of fine arts and design media by Pre-College students in the Advanced Majors Program, with a reception Gallery Day, July 28, from 11 a.m – 1 p.m.
Students from Ronald Reagan High School, taught by Paul Calhoun, were showing photographic works in “Know Thyself Presents: Voices of the Young” in the East Gallery through August 11.
Also on view through August 11 was “Because Racecar: Recent Work by Sean Weber ’11,” showing in MIAD’s Entrance Gallery.
Handcrafted furniture, fine art and accessories were on view in the River Level Gallery. “Furniture by MIAD Students: Designed & Built” was open through August 25, and offered a preview to the Milwaukee Fine Furnishings Show at the Harley-Davidson Museum October 5-7.
