Katie Musolff ’04, award-winning, figurative painter, will exhibit a new body of work at the Elaine Erickson Gallery from Gallery Night, October 17 through November 22.
“Drawn from Life” is a series of 50 drawings resulting from a personal experience that led to a year of redirection, exploration and introspection. Done in a variety of media, the drawings are based on Musolff’s recreation of the life/death cycle of fish, which she personally catches along the Mississippi River, and then freezes and thaws. The drawings will be shown with some of her newest paintings, which Musolff says, “benefited greatly from a year of drawing.” A reception will be held on Saturday, October 18, 1 – 3:30 p.m.; a painting demonstration with a live model will be held on October 25, November 1 and November 8 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the gallery, 207 E. Buffalo St.
