MIAD ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The MIAD Alumni Association is a dues-free community of MIAD, MSA, and Layton School alumni promoting engagement and connection through activities and events, benefitting the college, its alumni and students, and the greater creative community.

MIAD alums can stay connected through the monthly alumni e-newsletter, alumni lab access, quarterly Alumni Association meetings, or volunteering to serve on the MIAD Alumni Association Board.

The MIAD Alumni Association offers benefits ranging from affordable lab access, an alumni email account, to career services.

  • To request your MIAD Alumni Email account, contact alumni@miad.edu.
  • MIAD is proud to be one of the few AICAD colleges that provide its alumni lab access.
  • MIAD alumni are eligible for a courtesy library card as long as they are in good standing with both the MIAD BO and the MIAD library. Courtesy library cards are issued in-person at the MIAD Learning Commons and are good for one year from the date of request. Check the current Learning Common Hours or email library@miad.edu to plan your visit!
  • MIAD Career Services offers graduates the opportunity to create a profile on the Handshake platform and to book 1-1 appointments with an advisor.

ALUMNI RESOURCES

Alumni Facilities Access

MIAD alumni are granted access to all college lab facilities for one year after graduation. If you are within one year of graduation, please email alumni@miad.edu to receive an Alumni ID and information on how to schedule a lab appointment.

Alumni who are beyond one year of graduation are asked to pay an annual $25 fee to receive an Alumni ID, required for access to the labs. This fee supports awards to MIAD seniors, helping cover their thesis costs. If you graduated more than one year ago, please read the Alumni Facilities Access Policy and request an Alumni ID. After completing the form, you will receive an email with information on how to schedule a lab appointment.

Alumni Usage of Labs

MIAD is proud to be one of the few art and design colleges that provide its alumni community continued access to its labs after graduation. MIAD welcomes its alumni to use its lab facilities in support of their continued creative and professional growth. Having alumni in our labs working along with our current students, helps MIAD cultivate and enrich a culture of diverse making base practices in our community.
