State Senator Alberta Darling (R.-River Hills), co-sponsor of recently enacted legislation to provide state tax incentives to the film industry, visited MIAD’s Information Graphics class on Oct. 3 to discuss the effectiveness of students’ proposed concepts and designs on behalf of the Film Wisconsin advocacy organization.
The 25 communication design majors’ collaterals aim to help convince Wisconsin legislators to move the tax incentives from their current implementation date of 2008 to 2007.
The students’ continuing work, with Professor Anne Ghory-Goodman, Part-time faculty member Amy Decker and Dave Fantle of VISIT Wisconsin, is based on extensive research and will include a press kit and the mapping of Wisconsin resources most attractive to film directors.
