Anna (she/her) is a scholar, bilingual educator, and multifaceted creative who is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and spends part of each year in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Before moving back to her home state of Wisconsin, Anna spent 5 years living in Buenos Aires and 10 years in New York City, where she received a PhD from the Department of Applied Statistics, Social Science, and Humanities at New York University and a Master of Science in Special Education with a certificate in Spanish Bilingual Education from the City College of New York. While at NYU, Anna co-developed and co-taught courses related to education, artistic activism, critical social theory, human rights, history, and globalization. She designed and led short-term study abroad courses to Buenos Aires for NYU graduate and undergraduate students.

Throughout her career, Anna has taught at Facing History School (a public high school in New York City), co-founded a vintage clothing line that debuted at the first-ever Brooklyn Flea in 2008, and conducted research projects on contemporary art and U.S.-Mexico cultural relations in Mexico City. She collaboratively led workshops at Quinta Esencia, a center for ecological literacy in the pampas of Argentina that promotes regenerative cultures and forms of living. Anna was Assistant Editor of the feminist journal Psychology of Women Quarterly from 2015-2019 and in 2020 received a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad fellowship for the fieldwork she completed on high school occupations and student activism in Buenos Aires.

A lifelong snowboarder and trail runner, Anna also spends her time writing, devouring books, practicing pottery, knitting, crocheting, and soaking up the antics of her two young daughters.

Anna is passionate about artistic expression, community engagement, and inclusive education, and she is thrilled to be Assistant Professor in the Department of Writing and Humanities at MIAD where she gets to teach and learn from brilliant, creative young people and colleagues.
