I am following the same path as Whistler, Remington, Ernie Pyle and many unsung artists who have contributed to the history of the U.S. Military and who were never acknowledged. My “military” art is non-political – it is what I see. I’ve been through Hurricane Katrina and the depths of Afghanistan, walking in mine fields with these boots on the ground, looking to tell the story of those around me, regardless of race, position or purpose. I admire courage, regardless of social status. But there are some who have better options than others, and the military offers these options.
