Matthew Laznicka was born in the city of Racine, Wisconsin. As a child he immersed himself in the world of fantasy watching old monster movies, and anything science fiction related he could affix his eyes to.
In 1987 after graduating high school he decided to get serious about illustration and enrolled at The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in which case there was no turning back. upon graduating from college in 1991, he has worked as an in house artist for many different companies from stationary, greeting cards, t-shirts, and product design.
2003 became the first year to finally put a clamp down and start freelancing on a full time basis and there is no going back, focusing primarily on science fiction related print media.
Matthew has done many illustrations for such clients as: Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Flax, Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Nature Company, Museum Company, Wildwood Productions and many more.
