Hatch a new realist, has been working in the great lakes region of the upper Midwest since the mid nineteen seventies. His large scale oil paintings, carbon drawings, and prints have been displayed in numerous group shows over the years. This includes eleven appearances at the Chicago International Art Exposition at Navy Pier throughout the 80’s and 90’s as well as the New York Art Expo in 1987. Solo exhibits include, Samuel Stein Fine Arts Ltd, Chicago 1985 and 1987; Stein Bartlow Gallery, Chicago 1992; Peter Bartlow Gallery, Chicago 1995; Wisconsin Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters, Madison, WI 2003 and Doug Hatch a Survey:1984-2004, Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts, Brookfield, WI 2004. Doug Hatch opened his first gallery show of plein air landscape oil sketches in early June 2008 at the Peter Bartlow Gallery in Chicago.
An exhibition of eight new works by artist Doug Hatch will open April 17 2015 at the Tory Folliard Gallery Milwaukee.
