The MIAD Alumni Association Council, circleM4design and JWD-Creative presented a Chili Cook-Off co-sponsored by MIAD on Saturday, January 17 at the Hide House. Festivities included friends, food, a cash bar, silent auction and live music by the Shepherd Niles Band — all to benefit Alumni Association Programs and Scholarships.
While sampling and judging chili by alumni, staff, faculty and other friends, guests bid on auction items and packages ranging in value from $20 to $350, including a private wine tasting for eight, Buell leather jackets, sporting and theater events, passes to the Wisconsin Athletic Club, jewelry, leather snowboard/snowmobile gloves, and more.
Chef Dale Shidler won Best Chili Chef receiving a prize package including two tickets to the Milwaukee Repertory Theater Quadracci Powerhouse or Stiemke Theater, an overnight stay at the Doubletree Milwaukee Center and breakfast for two at the Avenue Bar & Grill.
Chef John D’Amico won Best Vegetarian Chili, and Chef Chris Andrews and his chili pouring crew won both Hottest Chili and Best Set Up.
