Interior Architecture and Design student John Brannan’s senior thesis project has come to fruition in the newly designed MIAD cafe.
Providing natural light, a new student gallery and future opportunities for engagement with community members, the cafe is based on an educational and living space concept that originated in the class of IA + D Professor Robert Lynch.
MIAD President Neil Hoffman said he was eager to implement the project because it reinforces the college’s student-centered approach, recognizes students’ expertise in determining their needs, and exemplifies the real-world experiences MIAD provides to all students.
The redesigned cafe will also feature an expanded menu that includes international and ethnic dishes that reflect the diversity of MIAD’s student body.
