Students in Professor Natanya Blanck’s Modern Art of Latin America class have created an altar for the annual Day of the Dead exhibition at the Walker’s Point Center for the Arts.
The center, 911 W. National Ave., is presenting its 14th annual DÃa de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, exhibition from Thursday, Nov. 2 through Thursday, Nov. 30, with an opening reception from 5 – 9 p.m. Local artist and educator Rosa Zamora is again curating the annual collection of memorial altars or ofrendas created by community residents and artists. The opening reception features face painting, traditional sugar skulls and a presentation by Zamora.
