MIAD scholarship supporter passes away

Edith Hibbard
Edith Hibbard, a longtime supporter of MIAD, passed away on September 29, 2022. She and her husband William Hibbard (1927-2020) established the Cookie Hibbard Scholarship in honor of their late daughter Mary Ellen “Cookie” Hibbard, a MIAD alum who studied Interior Design and Photography and graduated in 1992. The scholarship, which was established in 1998, is awarded annually to two Milwaukee high school graduates who will be attending MIAD.
An accomplished journalist, avid traveler and generous philanthropist, Mrs. Edith Hibbard’s legacy continues to support MIAD students and Milwaukee’s artistic community. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 12-3 p.m. at South Shore Pavilion (2900 S. Shore Drive, Milwaukee, WI). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Planned Parenthood or Door County Land Trust in her honor.
