Marisa Olson & Jennifer Chan
Olson is a new media artist, curator, critic, media theorist and a fellow at Eyebeam. She has exhibited internationally at such venues as the Museum of Modern Art and the Tate Modern. Chan is a video and new media artist working between Toronto and Chicago. Her work often explores issues of gender and racial identity within the digital medium.

Vital Technology exhibits eight interactive installations – incorporating body- and sound-tracking, gesture recognition, and more – and peripheral digital artworks. Each piece invites explorations of movement as thinking and feeling.
Cera and Stern ask viewers how technology continuously changes what we do and who we are. Do our media have a vitality, or force, that shifts our movements, and thus lives? Are they vital and necessary, helpful or a time-suck, when we encounter them? What are the stakes in how we interact and relate with the world, and how might media art frame and amplify what matters?
At Vital Technology, we the viewers experience and practice alternate ways to perform our bodies, media, concepts and materials.
