Veterans
MIAD will evaluate and award credit from the military (Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Department of Defense) by applying current transfer policy to the American Council on Education (ACE) credit recommendations. At the time of application, students who are or have been members of the armed services branch should have an official Joint Services Transcript (JST) sent to MIAD for review.

Contact the Registrar for policies and procedures related to your Veteran Educational Benefits. MIAD is approved for the Post 911 Yellow Ribbon program, along with other educational programs. In order to qualify, you will need to submit a letter from the Veterans Administration outlining your Certification of Eligibility. Students inquiring about their specific eligibility to receive federal VA education benefits should call the VA Education phone number at 1-888-442-4551 or visit the VA website at www.gibill.va.gov. Electronic applications for federal VA education benefits can be accessed at https://www.benefits.va.gov/benefits/applying.asp.

Veterans’ Services: Assisting Veterans and Their Families With Benefit Needs
VetsNet works with more than 30 agencies in seven Southeastern Wisconsin counties and beyond to bring critical services to at-risk veterans and their families. Those partner agencies are veteran service organizations, state and federal veteran agencies, other nonprofit veteran and community social service agencies.

DAV is a nonprofit charity that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families, helping more than 1 million veterans in positive, life-changing ways each year. Annually, the organization provides more than 600,000 rides to veterans attending medical appointments and assists veterans with well over 200,000 benefit claims. In 2018, DAV helped veterans receive more than $20 billion in earned benefits. DAV’s services are offered at no cost to all generations of veterans, their families and survivors.
