Ashley Luchinski serves as the Chair of Writing and Humanities, where she is also an Assistant Professor. She has been lucky to work with college students in a variety of capacities since 2011 and has been teaching courses in Writing and Humanities at MIAD since 2015. In addition to her other courses, Ashley enjoys introducing MIAD’s writing curriculum to first years through Writing 120: Processes of Inquiry and looks forward to working with upperclassman in her fiction writing classes each year. She earned her undergraduate degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from UW-Madison and her MFA in Creative Writing from Syracuse University where she was the runner-up for the Joyce Carol Oates award in fiction. Ashley lives in the Milwaukee area with her family and is currently expanding and editing her first novel, a realist, multi-generational work set largely in her hometown in southern Wisconsin.
