Kate E. Schaffer (BS 2006, MLC; MFA 2016, SAIC) began teaching at MIAD in 2017. She teaches courses in the First Year Experience where she encourages all students to consider the possibilities the world holds for them. As an artist, Schaffer works at the nexus of feminism, queer theory, and Abstractionist Aesthetics. Her paintings, installations, performances, and writings, explore the fixity and possibility of time and space.
