Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
All students, part-time and full-time, are evaluated for Satisfactory Academic Progress at the end of each semester whether they received financial aid for the evaluation period or not. We measure both their cumulative grade point average (GPA) and their progress toward their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
To remain Satisfactory Academic Progress, each semester a student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and have cumulatively earned 67% of the credits they have attempted.
MIAD’s intimate learning community provides personalized attention and numerous Student Resources to help all students maintain their GPAs throughout their studies at MIAD. The college, from faculty to staff, works even more closely with students who may receive a financial aid warning based on failure to maintain their GPA at the end of their second academic year.
