On Gallery Night and Day, MIAD conducted an art sale of works on paper produced by students of the Layton School of Art, MIAD’s predecessor college. In MIAD’s possession since the mid-1970s, the works were made available to the public for this special benefit. They included several thousand reasonably priced prints, drawings and other works on paper.
All proceeds went to benefit the victims of the July 17 fire that destroyed art studios, apartments and galleries at 631 E. Center St. The sale occurred in MIAD’s Student Union at 266 E. Erie St., across from MIAD’s main campus building. Sale hours: Friday, July 27, 5-9 p.m., and Saturday, July 28, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Cash donations were also accepted.
