Professor Bruce Humphries had two goals for Election Day–to make it fun, and to utilize MIAD’s new 3D sculpting and printing technology.
A slot car enthusiast, he created Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton slot cars with those technologies, and held races all day long in the Maker Space.
“I was wanting to work with 3D printing but didn’t want to simply print out an object. I wanted to explore how I could take it further. I had a revelation on the drive home from MIAD to incorporate slot car racing and 3D printing. Everything else came easy and fell into place.”
And so, it was a race to the finish on Election Day. Some might’ve even called it a fight…
